All the great [female] singers have used the chest voice in the low register.

Nothing is weaker, more woeful, duller and more distressing than the mixed register used below F (F4). Many teachers today say that if the mixed voice is “correctly placed”…it can replace the chest voice. Never, never…can this be a true substitute.
