Why Sing?

Like culture in general, singing satisfies a deep need to relate, to consolidate and to celebrate. It is perhaps healthy therefore to see creativity not only as an ‘appreciation’ of life, or even as an instinct, but as the imperative to share, or the capacity to give. In waking up to our potential we give value to ourselves, and, through consciousness, we give value to the world. Through singing and art we not only find our individual voices but tap into the ‘collective voice’ of humanity. This is the ultimate power of the singing voice, a power not imposed but shared, effectively empowering others through resonation.
